Photo. BRIAN SCOTT Building the NOR 11. The first cut.
Brian Scott is upset with the first cut of an opening for the audio amplifier. The edges were not perfectly straight because he let Jim make the cut. Brian is not happy. But the imperfect edge was later covered by the frame of the amplifier, and never seen. Jim took the photo to show Brian's concern at even the tiniest flaw. He wanted every aspect of the NOR 11 to be perfect.
This photo was taken on the first day of work which continued for about two years at night and on weekends. The electronic design and soldering were completed with the help of Marla Park who had worked in the Southern California aerospace industry in electronics manufacturing. For Marla, soldering of electronics was easy. Brian provided the design, but Marla soldered all the connections inside the NOR 11.
